About

Hello!

My name is Amalia and I have been passionate about fossils since the age of 13. I want to share my passion and my collection with you!

I was never a dinosaur kid, I got interested in fossils by sitting down in front of a fossil and thinking, this is amazing that something from so long ago has been preserved so I can touch and hold it. I just wanted to know more.

How did Fossil Journeys come about?

Fossil Journeys was created in the summer of 2022. It was originally just a blog. If I’m not studying fossils I am always coming up with my own little projects to work on. So the blog was made to be a proactive output from that. I also had an extensive collection that I wanted to share online.

It was not till September 2023 that I had moved back home after completing my Master’s degree that I decided I wanted to expand and include workshops, talks and events. I wanted to still work within palaeontology whilst looking for my long term/dream job.

A big part was also my own collection, I have a big collection and I want to share it. As I like to say, ‘what’s the point of having a fossil collection if its just going to sit in my room?’

My vision with Fossil Journeys is to be able to share my collection, museums collections and my interest with as many people as possible. Along with attending outreach events such as the Lyme Regis and Yorkshire Fossil Festivals.

If you have a fossil collection you would like to share online or in-person please get in contact.
