I am an ambitious individual with a strong drive. I am highly organised, dedicated and always looking to go above and beyond. I am passionate about museums, science communication and palaeontology and as indicated by the portfolio of skills and experience I have gathered in the Museum Sector, as highlighted below, this is the field in which I aspire to develop a career.
Education and Training
2022 -2023 MSc Museum Studies, University of Leicester – Merit
Developed knowledge and skills in a diverse range of museums practice, with a strong focus on the natural sciences within museums. From collection care and management, planning, and curating exhibitions, through to public engagement and science communication, I have developed a strong understanding and experience of these areas of museology.
Specialism: Green museum
Dissertation: ‘Impact of digitisation on access to palaeontological collections’.
2019 – 2022 BSc (Hons) Palaeontology, University of Portsmouth – 1st Class
Explored many different aspects of palaeontology through different methods that included workshops, laboratory work and field work. I learnt key skills including identification and classification, along with IT skills (producing illustrations and geological maps). Developed scientific writing skills and communication skills.
Dissertation: ‘Identifying, reconstructing, and illustrating a plesiosaur paddle from the Oxford Clay’.

July 2023 – September 2023 – Lapworth Museum of Geology Work Placement (University of Leicester)
- The project was based around collection management with conducting a audit on the historical collections. This including conservation and accessioning etc.

January 2023 – Present – Volunteer, Geological Curators Group
- Helping with the expansion of the collections map (an interactive map showing geological collections from around the world). https://www.geocurator.org/collections
- Searching museums and collections across the different American States.
10-11th June 2023 – Palaeontological Association (PalAss)– Yorkshire Fossil Festival
- Represented PalAss at the event. Staffed their public stand and interacted with visitors of all ages.
- Wrote a short engaging article about our experiences for the PalAss Newsletter. Newsletter No. 114 | The Palaeontological Association (palass.org) (page 66).
2022 – Present – Fossil Journeys
- A brand that I created to share my interest in palaeontology and museums, as well as sharing my collection. It started with social media and a website.
- I am currently expanding to include workshops with schools and groups.

20th July – September 2022 – Peterborough City Museum and Art Gallery
- Worked within the collections inspecting, labelling, and packing specimens prior a major museum decant.
- Engaged with the public while taking part within Fossil Fridays during the summer holidays
20th-25th June 2022 – Dinosaur Isle Dinosaur Dig, Sandown Isle of Wight
- Excavated dinosaur bones and other fossils including Project safety, site surveying and recording.
- Organised and delivered public events and school sessions to engage a diverse range of community groups with the project and its aims/objectives.
2020 – Present – Volunteer (Curatorial Assistant) at Chatteris (Fenland) Museum, Cambridgeshire
- Exhibition design-instal (temp. 5 months), using specimens from personal and museum collection.
- Visitor Interaction – engaging the public with local fossils and encouraged children to find fossils, including leading a ‘Fossil Fun Day’.
- Training and use of specialist collection management software: Modes Museum Collection Management system, and logged data and information on artifacts.
- Actively taken part in making videos with ‘Minute in the Museum’ Paddle the Plesiosaur Finding Fossils in Gravel
2018 – 2023 – Customer Service Assistant/Cashier, Applegreen Service Station
- Developed customer service skills and responsibility relating to managing financial transactions.
2016 – Present – Scouts – Section Assistant amongst different groups (Beavers, Cubs & Scouts)
- Organised, taught, and delivered a range of enjoyable activities for children of all ages.
- Developed and maintained relationships with both leaders, parents and children. Showing ability to modify communication methods for very different audiences.
2013 – 2015 – Volunteer at Fossils Galore, Cambridgeshire
- Built confidence in customer service at a young age from helping and running a range of children’s activities, such as hunting for fossils within a sand pit with brushes.
