ThinkTank Science Museum – Meet the Experts! – 28th March 2024
Visitors learned what creatures lived in Birmingham millions of years ago. Had a look at fossils under the microscope, had a go at completing our geological time challenge and tried to beat a palaeontologist and ammonite Noughts and Crosses!
ThinkTank Science Museum – International Women and Girls in Science Day – 11th February 2024
We welcome over 150 visitors to explore fossils and ask us questions about what we do and how we got into palaeontology! Visitors handled real fossils from the collection as well as replica fossils from the museums education department. They found out what fossils can be found around Birmingham, had a go with the digital microscope and found their own fossils in gravel!
Chatteris Museum Fossil Fun Day (Cambridgeshire) – October Half Term 28th October 2023
A fossil fun day based on Chatteris Museums fossil collection from the local area . All fossils where a part of the museums collections. Visitors enjoyed learning about what lived in Chatteris during the time of the dinosaurs, hunted for fossils in gravel, and took part in some dino-themed crafts.
Archaeology Activity Day (Meet the Archeologists!) – Norris Museum, St Ives 25th October 2023.
I joined the Norris Museum on their ‘Meet and Archaeologist Day’ as a palaeontologist to talk about fossils and how palaeontology is different to archaeology. I welcomed visitors to hold fossils from the museums handling collection as well as finding out how to find fossils in gravel!
